In an effort to to be a little more detailed about whats going on, I am going to attempt a narrative of between then and now.
To be clear there is little then and now, mostly its just now. To try to remember all thats happened is like trying to count your breaths. It isn’t pratical and more or less, that’s what Twitter is for.
Rowan has started on solid foods. It only occurred to us after the fact, but we started Arwen a little earlier, and that may prove to have been a mistake this time around. First observations? He HATES green beans. I can’t say that I blame him either. One smell of the stuff and I refused to taste it. He does cringe a bit at the apples and bananas, but if you ever tasted baby food bananas, you’ll know why.
Arwen on the other hand. Well, if dynamic is a word that describes constant change, its time that the dictionary folk get back to work. Just this morning she asked for pancakes for breakfast by yelling, PANCAKE-PANCAKE, at the top of her lungs. Oh yes, the tantrums have started.
In an unfortunate turn of events, whenever we tell her, “Thank you.”, for doing something we asked, she immediately assumes that the thing we asked was in response to her doing something we didn’t approve of. This of course leads to the crying. She is so attuned to tone and inflection that even playing around has to be done with care.
I believe we’ve talked about it before, but Arwen’s habit of stacking things has become more prolific. It’s not just vertical stacks, she will line things up and become seriously upset when the stacks don’t work.
She counts, sings and dances to anything she can come up with.
It’s impossible for me to describe what its like watching the development of both these children. Its like a runaway train that makes all the right moves. You can’t keep up with it, but you know its going in the right direction.
