It’s Saturday morning and things are relatively quiet. Even after such a short time it is amazing how some perspectives can change. As little Arwen passes her days listening to the TV or music we have to manage some of the things we like to do while keeping her in sight, if she’s not in our arms at the time. Like right now I am writing this post on my PPC phone while spyMommy takes a shower. I originally built in mobile capabilities to this site so I could do things on the go. It would seem that even though my computer is 20 feet behind me I can’t pull myself away long enough to write a post. I used to scoff at the whole ‘netbook’ fad, what with how powerful phones are now, but now I think even a 7 inch screen would be nice. And although I have always been a supporter of cloud computing I am now in the position of saying,”Come on now, quit teasing us and make it work right.”
Something else I’ve come to appreciate more is a cup of properly brewed, french pressed coffee. It use to be that I would drink a whole pot of drip coffee and not be satisfied. With my french press just one and a half cups does it for me better. I recommend anyone who likes coffee and wants to cut down on quanity, but up the quality, to get a french press.
Now, think of the three most prominent European composers, who comes to mind? Mozart, Beethoven and Bach, right? Well maybe yes, maybe no. The point is that this is the case for me and I want Arwen to be exposed to as much of this as possible. There will be a time and place for electronica, punk and rock, but those are opinionated and subjective. While the above mentioned composer’s music is just as drug or alcohol induced as the greats of the latter genres, there is something infinitely more magical about it. Mozart drives the imagination, Beethoven moves the heart and Bach pounds at the mind. Brahms and Handel have something very ethereal about them. At the moment it seems that of those just mentioned, I think Mozart’s violin concertos are Arwen’s favorites. I say this in spite of the fact that music in general seems to be something she enjoys. I say it because I want it to be true.
