It’s Spring, and that means our annual trip to North Carolina to visit spyMommy’s family. The trip overall was successful. As with any trip, there were moments of tension, chaos and meltdown.
As Arwen and Rowan get older, they become more capable travelers. Arwen has always been prone to motion sickness and she can now tell us when it is coming on. Rowan still has a number of challenges to overcome, but one step in any direction but back is a step in the right direction.
The weather was great this year. Some brief periods of rain, but mostly sunny and warm. An unusual element this year were winds. Not the occasional breeze, but wind you could see and feel. I was able to get out on my bike a couple times even.
I’m not sure how to summarize the trip. There was shopping, including our now seemingly traditional tour of downtown Lexington. 2 trips to the mall, the second of which, I think, was some kind of milestone for the kids. We got to try a couple new food places. Near equal amounts of crazy and chill… I dunno, I think it was a vacation. You know, more of the same, just somewhere else.
Pictures seem to be on the light side this year, from my perspective at least. Like I said, more of the same – just somewhere else. spyMommy is sure to have plenty from her perspective.
