The weekend before our big Halloween adventure, the Toledo Zoo held its annual event, “Pumpkin Path”. Basically just a safe, sponsored, trick or treat event. We were pretty excited about this year’s event. The Ohio Garrison of the 501st was participating. So we properly geeked out and prepared to go. On the day we planned to go, Rowan was sick. We didn’t know it then, be he had the croup. We adjusted plans and only Arwen and I were going to go, but after the medicine kicked in, Rowan seemed to be acting like he was feeling well. So we rushed to get everyone ready and headed out.
It was a cool, but sunny, day and most of us ended up feeling pretty warm by the end. Also by the end, we realized that, as excited as Rowan was to go, he really wasn’t up for it. We wound up renting a wagon, something we’ve never done and that likely was the key factor in letting us finish the path.
Both Rowan (despite how he felt) and Arwen had a really good time. Rowan really seemed to like the idea of getting candy from people.
