A Difference of 10 Days

It’s been a few days since the family has returned from their trip down south and things are gradually settling back into their proper routine. I was astonished at the changes I saw in Arwen when she got back. So much more animated, talkative and independent (to a point). She is babbling constantly now, learning how to shape her lips and speaking out for no other reason than to hear her own voice. She’s even developed a new laugh. A, “HA-HA”, laugh. A spoken laugh rather than a true laugh. Whatever the motivation behind it, it’s hilarious.

As much as I dread it, I am anxious for her next doctor’s appointment. I swear it’s like she has doubled in size. As the days go by she grows in dexterity and strength. Leveling up like mad, man! We bought her some Cheerios the other day and she likes messing around with them. It’s like a really good puzzle to her. She’ll sit with total concentration, almost oblivious to whatever else is going on. We even got some teether biscuits. They’re little cracker/cookie things that are hard enough to stand up to the slobber of a baby and they dissolve more than they break up so she doesn’t choke. She loves these things to no end as well. If she could name them, I’m betting ambrosia would be the name.

I know it’s been a while, but there will be new pictures up soon I hope. Perhaps you’ll see what I mean in terms of growth. Just the other day I was looking at this site and noticed the random photos on the sidebar. There was a picture of her, not to long after being brought home. I was holding her and she was just this little wad, easily cradled in the cup of my hand (well, supported is a better world, after all she was just a few inches shy of 2 feet long), and weighing just a bit more than a gallon of milk. 7 and a half short months, the development is staggering and mind-blowing. I can’t even wrap my head around the mechanics of it. I try not to think about it, so naturally I think about it a lot and invariably give myself a headache.

I’m sure there are other things to note, I just can’t remember them at all. spyMommy will be the one to recount the adventures down south. In other news it has been suggested that this site change focus from just Arwen to the entire family. Personally I am against this since I started this for her, as her baby book, but with some work I don’t think it will be all that hard to section off the site for categorical browsing. That being said I will be doing research and then working to move the site to an aggregate site on a “new” server. I only say new because I am going to have to reconfigure this site for more virtual real estate to accommodate the potential increase in size and possibly traffic. Also there will be a new address but I will make sure the proper redirects are in place and hopefully it will be almost seamless.

Until next time.
