It’s unfortunate we haven’t been to the zoo very much this summer. The truth of it is though, it’s been too hot. With a record number of consecutive days over 90 degrees (not counting the heat index) we’ve been quite content to sit and fry at home. Yesterday, though no cooler, was an exception. Dora the Explorer, one of Arwen’s all time favorites, was making an appearance at the zoo. With nothing of any importance to do, we headed out. We thought that maybe getting there first thing was the thing to do. It just goes to show that thought is very overrated. The entrance was packed, probably taking 20 minutes just to get in the gate. Once we were through we made our way to the festivities (Fisher Price sponsored event), and from there the pictures can tell the story.
