Lots has happened since the previous update. I am now past the point of which my first daughter is born. This is a huge relief. She came into the world when I was 26 weeks. ((so I actually have a basis of comparison when I imagine my baby in there!)
Now I am just over 29. I am nearing the point where if I did have the baby early it would be relatively safe.
So many issues I have had! First, my feet swelled up rather large and have stayed a bit swollen since. Unfortunately, I have to stand on my feet for my entire shift at work everyday which is not good for this. The doctor said that I have to sit down every couple of hours and elevate my feet….but right now the only time I get to do that is on my lunch break.
Second, I failed my first glucose test. It was a one hour test I had to fast for and then get poked a few times. I thought that test sucked! Then after failing that one I learned that I had to take the 3 hour test. It really turned out to be 4 hours because of some confusion. By the time, that one was over…..I had not eaten for 16 hours and had nothing to drink for 4. It was a bit difficult!
And finally, I have been contracting every single day.
Last night’s were the worst because they were actually uncomfortable and very frequent. My back hurt so bad. In fact the last few days it has been hard to deal with the back pain. Standing on my feet for hours with all this weight has been a challenge. I just have to imagine that SOON, I will be holding a precious little girl…..and all will be well.
The doctor estimated that at birth she will be between 7-8 lbs which is consistent with Mila’s birth weight. He also said her head is down. Even the tiniest movements are noticeable now…inside and out. This makes me so curious as to what is actually going on in there. It also makes me anxious for her arrival.
We did the maternity tour…..the hospital is smelly and getting a bit rundown. BUT it is what is familair and I believe the doctors and care there are good.
I have to get to work so more later.
