A brief summary of events

Well it would seem that  neither our picture taking or our postings are immune to the chaos of the holiday season. Let me then quickly go over my observations for what their worth at this hour.

Probably the most notable is the introduction of solid foods into Arwen’s diet. For a little while now we’ve given her a little banana here and there and maybe a touch of baby food. Now it’s become a regular thing along with the addition of cereal into her formula. She seems to like it all.
Boy has she grown. I’m sure that the numbers wouldn’t disagree either. Being just under the 5 month mark, 6 month clothing is already starting to show signs of being just a little short.
A little while ago we bought Arwen a bouncer/activity-center by way of a gift from the Sauerweins. She has a lot of fun in it and has done wonders for strengthening her back, neck and legs.
Much to our shagrin she still really dislikes being on her stomach, though she is becoming more and more comfortable with it as we force the issue. Let this be a lesson to future generations with concerns to new opinions of old practices. The “new” opinion is that you do not put your newborn on their belly. Well, after further digging we found that a direct result of this not-so-prudent advice, babies are taking longer to develop the rolling over and crawling motor skills.
And finally, though some of it is old news it is amusing just the same, she has favorite TV shows. When toys, play and food will no longer satisfy, little Arwen must have her fix of brightly colored puppet friends. Her favorite, by far, is the Baby Einstein First Sounds video. I am almost ashamed to say that she knows the sound of the PS3 powering up, she knows what to expect when we navigate the video server screen and that opening squeal… its an opiate. Her second favorite is probably Yo-Gabba-Gabba. It’s loud, bright and downright silly, but I think its the first two things that do it for her. Other videos such as Baby Einstein’s Mozart and Bach she tolerates with good humor and to a lesser degree the Your Baby Can Read videos. By comparison the latter is quite boring.

That’s all I have for now eager readers, now enjoy some eye-candy.

    • It may be weird, but I find that I have a strange appreciation for it. Beats the Wiggles by miles. As for the Teletubbies… well, spawns of Satan were bound to make it to cable TV eventually.
